Exeter Area MGOC will be presenting its 29th annual Moor to Sea Classic MG event to be held on Sunday, 27th May 2018. The run will start from the Golf Club at Dainton Park, near Newton Abbot. The distance will be 80 to 90 miles, taking in some the most beautiful parts of South Dartmoor and its villages, including Buckland in the Moor which nestles at the edge of beautiful Dartmoor, perched on slopes above the River Dart. Further on we shall see parts of the South Hams coast and all that is on offer there, before heading back to Dainton Park for tea – a genuine ‘Moor’ to ‘Sea’ adventure.
Included in the price will be tea or coffee at the start, with a Devon Cream Tea** at the finish. A Road Book and Rally Plate will be available at registration, and the first cars will be away at 09.30 a.m.

Tea will be available at Dainton Park from 3.30 p.m.

Signed scanned e-mailed bookings can be accepted but must be supported by an on-line bank transfer – details are on the booking form. Otherwise, booking form and cheque in the post in the normal way.

** Remember – In Devon the clotted cream goes on first, with the strawberry jam on top !

For Devonshire cream teas:

  • Cream is like the butter – you wouldn’t put butter on jam.

  • It originates from when jam was expensive so you’d just have a bit to put on top.

  • You can get more cream on if you load it first!

  • It stops you getting cream on your nose. (jam on cream lays flatter???).

  •  If you’re sharing a cream tea with a Cornishman you get first dibs on the cream.
